“Hotel Transylvania: Transformania,” the fourth and final installment in the animated comedy franchise, will be released this July.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is the official title for the fourth and final installment in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. The animated comedy film franchise, produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation, has been a runaway success since the release of the first Hotel Transylvania in 2012. The series features fan-favorite classic monsters ranging from Dracula to Frankenstein to The Invisible Man, and its A-List cast of comedy stars ensures that each installment is a family-friendly watch.
Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez are all set to reprise their roles as Dracula family members in Transformania, which was originally scheduled for release in December 2021 but was recently postponed to August 6, 2021. Now, the fourth film has been moved back two weeks to a final July 23, 2021, theatrical release date. Sony revealed the new date and title on Twitter, referring to it as the franchise’s “final chapter.” Consider the following Tweet:
Unlike several other films released this year, it seems as if Transformania will be screened exclusively in theaters, providing fans with enough incentive to attend the final iteration of the series on the big screen. Though the story has not been revealed yet, many of the cast and crew from previous films have been reported to return in some capacity, with former director Genndy Tartakovsky penning the screenplay. The franchise has always benefited from an abundance of comedic talent behind the camera, and Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is certain to bring the series to a close in grand fashion.
