Jeannie Mai is expecting her first child.
The co-host of “The Real” revealed on Monday that she is pregnant with her and husband Jeezy’s first child, despite previously stating that she did not want children.
“It’s surreal because this is the same house in which I expressed so many defiant sentiments. You know, I was always like, ‘I know exactly what I want, I know exactly what kind of woman I want to be, and I’ve always said I’d never be a mother,’ Mai explained on the talk show.
“And there are so many reasons why I would have said that then that are now coming to fruition, but I do know that you never say never, and that love can truly transform you.”
Mai, 42, credited the talk show with assisting her in “growing and evolving” to a place she “never imagined seeing.” She stated that she was excited to “return home and tell the girls who have always accepted me at every stage of my life.”

“…I feel as though you’ve all told me individually that if I wanted to be a mom, I’d be an awesome mom,” she shared.
On March 27, the 43-year-old rapper of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” married Mai in an intimate ceremony at their Atlanta home. The talk show host discovered she was pregnant one month before their wedding, but she miscarried.
Mai began dating Jeezy in 2018 and married in March 2021.
“I began to wonder if I was being punished,” she explained to “Women’s Health.” “I wondered if I’d cursed or jinxed myself. I’ve never desired children in my entire life. When I say never, I mean never completely.”
The couple’s plans for a large wedding were derailed by COVID, but they ultimately chose to exchange vows in front of their immediate families and a few close friends in an intimate ceremony.
A week after they exchanged vows, Mai discovered she was pregnant again.
“It was the most beautiful reminder that anything is possible, that you are not in control, and that God has a plan,” she told the magazine.
Mai began dating Jeezy in 2018. Their union is Mai’s second marriage — she divorced ex-husband Freddy Harteis in 2017 after ten years of marriage — and Jeezy’s first.
