Sydney Sweeney: MGK Rumors, Plastic Surgery Truth, Scooter Braun Relationship & Latest Movies

Sydney Sweeney has spent much of her career navigating the gap between what audiences see on screen and what the internet assumes about her real life.

That includes persistent questions about:

• Machine Gun Kelly
• Plastic surgery
• Her former fiancé Jonathan Davino
• Her current relationship
• Her body
• Her rapidly expanding film career

By September 2026, several of those stories look very different from how they did a year earlier.

The biggest updates are straightforward:

• There is still no credible evidence Sydney and Machine Gun Kelly ever dated.
• Sydney has directly denied having plastic surgery, Botox or cosmetic procedures.
• Her engagement to Jonathan Davino ended in 2025.
• She is now reportedly in a serious relationship with Scooter Braun.
• Euphoria returned with Season 3 in 2026.
• The Housemaid and Christy expanded her film career in 2025.
• She now has a major pipeline of projects extending into 2027.

Here is what is actually verified.

Sydney Sweeney and Machine Gun Kelly: Did They Ever Date?

There is no reliable evidence that:

Sydney Sweeney and Machine Gun Kelly were ever romantically involved.

The rumor appears to have grown primarily because they worked together on multiple projects during an important stage in both of their careers.

Those collaborations were:

• Big Time Adolescence
• Downfalls High

But the actual professional relationships in those projects are often misunderstood online.

Sydney Sweeney and MGK in Big Time Adolescence

Big Time Adolescence premiered at Sundance in:

2019

before receiving its wider release in:

2020.

The film starred:

• Pete Davidson as Zeke
• Griffin Gluck as Mo
• Sydney Sweeney as Holly
• Colson Baker, aka Machine Gun Kelly, as Nick

Sydney's character:

Holly

was actually:

Zeke's girlfriend.

So despite Sydney and MGK appearing in the same movie, they were not playing a romantic couple.

Sydney Sweeney and MGK in Downfalls High

Their second notable collaboration came with:

Downfalls High

released in:

January 2021.

Machine Gun Kelly, credited as Colson Baker:

• Co-directed the film
• Co-wrote it
• Appeared as a narrator

Sydney played:

Scarlett.

Her character's love interest was:

Fenix

played by:

Chase Hudson.

That is an important correction.

Sydney and MGK did not portray lovers in Downfalls High.

MGK was one of the filmmakers behind the project.

What Is Downfalls High?

Downfalls High is a musical film built around Machine Gun Kelly's album:

Tickets to My Downfall.

The story follows Fenix, an isolated high-school student, and Scarlett, the popular girl who becomes close to him.

Sydney's role was central to the narrative, while MGK and Travis Barker functioned partly as narrators surrounding the story.

Why Did Sydney Sweeney and MGK Dating Rumors Start?

The likely reasons include:

• Multiple collaborations
• Strong promotional chemistry
• Their overlapping young-Hollywood circles
• Fan edits
• Social-media speculation

But those factors do not establish a romantic relationship.

No strong mainstream reporting has documented them as a couple.

Did Sydney Sweeney Praise Machine Gun Kelly?

Yes.

Sydney has spoken positively about MGK's creativity and work.

That is consistent with a professional friendship.

Friendly comments between actors and collaborators are sometimes turned into dating rumors online, particularly when both people are highly visible celebrities.

There is still no credible evidence that their relationship went beyond:

colleagues and creative collaborators.

Were Sydney and Jonathan Davino Together During the MGK Projects?

Yes.

Sydney was already romantically linked to:

Jonathan Davino

during much of that period.

Their relationship began around:

2018.

They later became engaged in:

2022.

Therefore, during both:

• Big Time Adolescence
• Downfalls High

Sydney was already in the long-term relationship that eventually led to her engagement.

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino

For years, Jonathan Davino was Sydney's most significant publicly known relationship.

The two began dating around:

2018.

Their engagement became public in:

2022.

Sydney frequently tried to keep the relationship private because Davino was not an actor or public entertainment personality.

Who Is Jonathan Davino?

Davino is a businessman who became involved with Sydney professionally as well as personally.

He worked with her through:

Fifty-Fifty Films

the production company Sydney created to gain more control over her projects.

Their professional work included films such as:

Anyone But You.

Did Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino Break Up?

Yes.

Their engagement ended in:

early 2025.

Reports of trouble intensified in February and March after:

• Sydney was frequently photographed without her engagement ring
• Their wedding plans were delayed
• She spent more time apart from Davino

By March 2025, credible entertainment reporting described the relationship as effectively over.

Why Did Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino Split?

Reports at the time said Sydney was:

overwhelmed

and heavily focused on her career.

Sources also described the relationship as having been:

rocky for some time.

Sydney herself has generally avoided publicly detailing the breakup.

That means claims about:

• infidelity
• specific fights
• a third party causing the breakup

should be treated cautiously unless directly supported.

Were Sydney and Jonathan Seen Together After Their Breakup?

Yes.

They were photographed together after the engagement ended.

That led to speculation that they might reconcile.

However, being seen together did not ultimately mean the engagement had resumed.

Their long relationship also included overlapping:

• Personal ties
• Business interests
• Shared history

which can explain continued contact after a romantic breakup.

Who Is Sydney Sweeney Dating in 2026?

The major relationship update is:

Scooter Braun.

By September 2026, reliable entertainment reporting describes Sydney and Braun as being in a:

serious relationship.

The two reportedly first connected in:

Venice in June 2025

during celebrations surrounding Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding.

How Did Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun Meet?

Their connection reportedly began in:

Venice, Italy

in June 2025.

Sydney had recently ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino and was reportedly:

not actively looking for another serious relationship.

Her connection with Braun initially developed more casually.

It later became significantly more serious.

Are Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun Serious?

Yes, according to current reporting.

By September 2026:

• They had been involved for roughly a year
• Braun had accompanied Sydney on work trips
• They had traveled together
• Sydney had spent time with Braun's children

That last point has been cited as particularly significant because Braun reportedly does not routinely introduce romantic partners to his children.

Who Is Scooter Braun?

Scooter Braun is a music executive and entrepreneur best known for his work with artists including:

• Justin Bieber
• Ariana Grande
• Demi Lovato

He has also been involved in major entertainment investments and companies.

He divorced:

Yael Cohen

in 2022.

Is Scooter Braun Managing Sydney Sweeney?

There has been speculation about Braun influencing Sydney's career because of his entertainment-business background.

However, current reporting does not establish that he is personally controlling or managing her career.

Sydney continues to operate as:

• An actress
• Producer
• Entrepreneur

with her own professional team.

She has increasingly taken producer roles across her projects.

Sydney Sweeney Plastic Surgery Rumors

Plastic surgery speculation has followed Sydney for years.

Common online claims have included:

• Rhinoplasty
• Lip filler
• Botox
• Breast augmentation
• Facial fillers

The key 2026 update is that Sydney herself has now directly addressed the speculation.

Has Sydney Sweeney Had Plastic Surgery?

According to Sydney:

no.

In an October 2025 interview, she stated:

“I've never gotten anything done.”

She also said she is:

terrified of needles.

She specifically said:

• No cosmetic work
• No tattoos
• No procedures

and said she intends to:

age gracefully.

That is substantially stronger evidence than speculation from doctors analyzing photographs.

What Does Sydney Say About Before-and-After Photos?

Sydney has criticized online comparisons using photos from completely different stages of her life.

Her basic point was:

she was sometimes a child in the “before” images.

She noted that:

• She has aged
• Her makeup changed
• Styling changed
• Her face naturally matured

Comparing a photo taken around age 12 with one taken in her late 20s does not establish cosmetic surgery.

Did Sydney Sweeney Have a Nose Job?

There is:

no confirmed evidence.

Some cosmetic surgeons and commentators have speculated about changes in her nose.

Sydney herself says:

she has not undergone plastic surgery.

Without medical records or confirmation from Sydney, claims of rhinoplasty remain speculation.

Did Sydney Sweeney Get Botox?

Sydney says:

no.

In fact, she revealed that someone in Hollywood once told her she needed Botox.

She was only:

16 years old

at the time.

According to Sydney, she was told to “fix” her face if she wanted to succeed.

She did not follow the advice.

Did Sydney Sweeney Get Lip Fillers?

Again:

Sydney denies having cosmetic work done.

Claims of lip filler are based largely on photo comparisons and aesthetic speculation.

There is no confirmed admission from Sydney.

Did Sydney Sweeney Get Breast Implants?

Sydney says she has not had cosmetic surgery.

The more interesting documented story is almost the opposite.

When she was younger, Sydney considered making her breasts:

smaller.

Sydney Sweeney Considered Breast Reduction in High School

Sydney has said she felt uncomfortable with her chest during high school.

She planned to undergo surgery at:

18

to reduce her breast size.

Her mother advised her not to make the decision too quickly.

Sydney later said she was glad she listened.

She ultimately became much more comfortable with her natural body.

Breast Reduction vs. Breast Augmentation

This is frequently misstated online.

Sydney did not say she wanted implants.

She said she had considered:

breast reduction.

She eventually chose:

not to undergo the procedure.

That distinction matters when fact-checking plastic surgery articles.

Sydney Sweeney and Body Confidence

Sydney has spoken repeatedly about learning to become comfortable with her body.

She has said that playing:

Cassie Howard

in Euphoria changed aspects of how she viewed herself.

Over time, she became more confident rather than trying to hide her body.

Her message has increasingly centered around:

not apologizing for your natural shape.

Sydney Sweeney’s New Lingerie Business

That body-confidence journey has now expanded into business.

In 2026, Sydney has also discussed developing her own lingerie company:

Syrn.

She has said part of the motivation came from difficulty finding clothing that fit her body properly.

The brand is another sign of her expansion beyond acting.

How Old Is Sydney Sweeney in 2026?

Sydney was born:

September 12, 1997.

She turned:

29 years old

in September 2026.

Sydney Sweeney’s Breakthrough Roles

Sydney worked for years before becoming a household name.

Important early roles included:

• Everything Sucks!
• The Handmaid's Tale
• Sharp Objects

Her career changed significantly after she joined:

Euphoria

as Cassie Howard.

Sydney Sweeney in Euphoria

Sydney began playing:

Cassie Howard

when Euphoria premiered in:

2019.

The emotionally volatile character became one of the most discussed roles in the series.

Her performance helped transform her from a working young actress into a major celebrity.

Euphoria Season 3

One major update since the original article:

Euphoria Season 3 arrived in 2026.

The long-delayed season brought Sydney back as Cassie alongside other returning cast members.

Sydney's expanding film career had led some fans to wonder how prominently she would remain involved with the HBO series.

She did return.

Sydney Sweeney and The White Lotus

Sydney also appeared in Season 1 of:

The White Lotus

as Olivia Mossbacher.

Her performances in both:

• Euphoria
• The White Lotus

earned Emmy recognition and helped establish her dramatic reputation.

Anyone But You

Sydney starred opposite:

Glen Powell

in the 2023 romantic comedy:

Anyone But You.

The film became a major commercial success after a slower opening.

Sydney also served as an:

executive producer.

Its success strengthened her position as both an actress and a producer capable of developing commercially viable projects.

Immaculate

In:

2024

Sydney starred in and produced:

Immaculate.

The horror film had special significance because Sydney had previously auditioned for an earlier version of the project years before.

She later helped revive it through her own production company.

Christy

In:

2025

Sydney starred as boxer:

Christy Martin

in the biographical sports drama:

Christy.

The role required a significant physical transformation.

Sydney reportedly gained around:

30 pounds of muscle

for the part.

This also makes online appearance comparisons particularly unreliable because her body and face have changed for specific acting roles.

The Housemaid

Sydney also starred in:

The Housemaid

released in:

2025.

She played:

Millie Calloway

opposite Amanda Seyfried.

Sydney additionally served as:

executive producer.

The project became important enough to launch a follow-up film.

The Housemaid’s Secret

Sydney is returning as:

Millie Calloway

in:

The Housemaid’s Secret.

The sequel is currently scheduled as a major:

2027

project.

She is also attached as a producer.

Sydney Sweeney’s Upcoming Movies

As of September 2026, Sydney's announced pipeline includes several major projects.

Several remain in pre-production, meaning schedules and final casting can still change.

Sydney Sweeney and Gundam

One of her most unusual upcoming projects is:

Gundam.

The live-action adaptation is currently listed in:

post-production

with Sydney involved both as actress and producer.

It represents another significant genre expansion for her.

Sydney Sweeney and Barbarella

Sydney remains attached to a new version of:

Barbarella.

The project has been in development for several years.

She is expected to:

• Star
• Executive produce

though the film remains a developing project rather than a completed release.

Sydney Sweeney as a Producer

Her production work is increasingly important to understanding her career.

Through Fifty-Fifty Films and other producing arrangements, her producer credits include or are expected to include:

• Anyone But You
• Immaculate
• Christy
• The Housemaid
• The Housemaid’s Secret
• Gundam
• The Custom of the Country
• Split Fiction
• Sleepy Hollow
• Barbarella

So describing Sydney only as an actress understates her current Hollywood role.

There is no reason to turn that relationship into a romance without evidence.

Did Sydney Sweeney Ever Date Pete Davidson?

Pete Davidson appeared with Sydney in:

Big Time Adolescence

but his character was the boyfriend of Sydney's character.

Co-stars are frequently linked romantically by fan speculation, but fictional relationships do not establish real ones.

Glen Powell

after their chemistry promoting Anyone But You.

on-screen chemistry frequently gets converted into off-screen dating speculation.

Final Thoughts

Sydney Sweeney’s 2026 story is considerably clearer than the rumor-heavy version circulating online.

There is:

no credible evidence she ever dated Machine Gun Kelly.

They collaborated twice, but their roles are frequently misunderstood.

In Big Time Adolescence, Sydney played Pete Davidson's character's girlfriend.

In Downfalls High, she starred opposite Chase Hudson while MGK served as co-director, co-writer and narrator.

The plastic-surgery story has also changed significantly.

Rather than simply leaving the question unanswered, Sydney directly said in 2025:

she has never had cosmetic work done.

She specifically denies:

• Plastic surgery
• Botox
• Cosmetic procedures

and says many viral before-and-after comparisons simply place childhood photographs next to adult ones.

Her relationship status has changed even more dramatically.

Her long engagement to:

Jonathan Davino

ended in 2025.

By September 2026, Sydney is reportedly in a serious relationship with:

Scooter Braun.

Professionally, she has also moved well beyond being merely “the girl from Euphoria.”

She now regularly:

• Produces her films
• Develops intellectual property
• Leads franchises
• Builds consumer businesses

with major upcoming projects extending into:

2027 and beyond.

The strongest SEO angle is therefore:
