“The Sexiest Athlete of the World” In her heartfelt message, Alica Schmidt explains the Olympic exit.
In the women’s 4 –400-meter relay Friday, in 2020 Tokyo Olympics, fans won’t be seeing German track and field star Alica Schmidt.
The 22-year-old, commonly called “the sexiest world athlete,” arrived in Instagram on Thursday and revealed her time at the Summer Games.
“I could not secure my spot in alignment for the prelims after the practice race simulation,” wrote Schmidt in the caption. In front of a large Olympic Ring statue she shared a shot of herself.
Initially for the women’s mixed relay 4:400 Schmidt’s Olympic debut was scheduled for last Saturday. But she didn’t compete because the German mixed team had been disqualified for contacting the Jamaican team. In Tokyo, Schmidt did not ride.
“I am so appreciative of all the love and support I received on this journey. I can’t wait today to cheer on these girls and hope that we will be able to reach the Olympic final!” continued Schmidt, referring on the 4x400m relay event on Friday.
After thanking her fans and supporters for their “unbelievable support,” Schmidt said she looks forward to her own future.
“For all the experiences I have made in Tokyo during my time, I couldn’t be grateful to you,” wrote the athlete Puma-sponsored. “I have learned so much and can’t wait until the next few years for my athletic career.”
