‘Respectfully exited’ the Bridgerton WhatsApp talk, explains Rege-Jean Page in a new interview.
Rege-Jean Page has said he has “exited” the Bridgerton cast WhatsApp group since the news broke.
In the year 2020, Bridgerton was the only positive item to come out of the year. Or, more especially, Rege-Jean Page, the film’s leading man.
After being cast in Netflix’s most successful series to date, the 31-year-old British actor earned his big break in December (84 million viewers thank you very much).
Page’s star power has skyrocketed, and he’s currently in talks to replace Daniel Craig in future James Bond flicks, which would be embarrassing.
This is why fans were disappointed when it was announced earlier this year that Page was the lone star who wouldn’t be returning for season 2. And his latest admission is only going to add salt to the wounds he’s already been dealing with.
Page has disclosed in a recent interview that he is no longer in the cast’s WhatsApp group chat, despite allegations that it was always intended to be a “one-season employment”.
According to Page, “the cosmos has enlarged” in an interview with GQ. So I’m out.”
Page, on the other hand, said he wasn’t thrown out. “I respectfully left the room. ‘I didn’t want to put them in a position where they would have to kick me out.’
A possible cameo in the upcoming season hasn’t been ruled out, according to the magazine.
“You know I couldn’t tell you!” he yelled at me. “Isn’t it lovely to be startled by something you didn’t expect?”
“Dear Readers,” began the letter from Lady Whistledown, the show’s enigmatic gossip, announcing Regé-Jean Page’s resignation in April.
On-screen, we will miss Simon, but he will always be a member of the Bridgerton clan. When the next social season arrives, Daphne will remain a dedicated wife and sister, helping her brother negotiate its intrigue and romance.
The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers and starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Pine, and Evans, will be Page’s next project.
