Mena Suvari says that her abusive ex made her have threesomes by “manipulating” her.
Mena Suvari says that one of her ex-girlfriends “forced” her to hook up with other women in a threesome.
The star of “American Beauty,” who has talked in the past about being sexually abused as a child, said in an interview with The Guardian that she met the lighting engineer when she was 17 years old. She said that he would verbally and sexually abuse her.
Suvari, who is 43 years old, also said that her ex, whom she wouldn’t name by name, would ask her to pick up women for threesomes, including women she had met on set.
Several of the women ran into the actress years later, and she told one of them, “I never wanted to do any of those things.”

Suvari, who is married to Michael Hope and has a 1-year-old son named Christopher, said the woman was surprised and told her, “Oh, he told me you wanted to do that.”
She told the outlet, “It was a huge eye-opener for me to see how I was being manipulated and I had no idea.” “The situations were made for me, and I was just sucked in by them.”
Suvari also said that she was forced to use uncomfortable sex toys and that rough anal sex made her need medical help.
She also said, “I wasn’t loved. I was just a body for him to use as he pleased.”

The former “Six Feet Under” star said that her time with the lighting engineer has changed how she feels about sex now.
She said, “I’ve never wanted to say bad things about things that can be very good for other people.” “I didn’t have a choice or permission to do it, and that made it so bad for me. When you’re sexually abused, it’s a very bad thing because some of it is satisfying. But the other part is a nightmare, so you don’t know what to do.
Suvari said that she was sad that she “never got the chance to find out who I was sexually.” She also said that she couldn’t imagine what it would have been like to “date all through high school and then agree to lose your virginity to each other.”

“That sounds so lovely to me,” she said in the end. “I had lost everything.”
Suvari, who has also had problems with drugs, once said that a friend of her older brother had raped her when she was 12.
Suvari told People, “That day, a part of me died.” “He took advantage of me, had fun with me, and then threw me away. He told me I was a whore. I never got to have [sex] in a healthy way. I had no choice. And that, along with the fact that I didn’t feel seen or heard, helped me form an idea of myself. That’s what I was worth.”
After two years of dating, Suvari finally found happiness when she secretly married Hope, her third husband, in 2018.
In 2021, Christopher joined their family.
