People try to figure out who the ‘Couch Man’ is on TikTok, and the video has gone viral.
Please, let the real “couch guy” take the stage.
Student spotted cuddling with a lady who isn’t his fiancée is being hunted down by TikTok users in an all-out manic state of investigation.
According to his girlfriend Lauren Zarras, the mysterious stranger, dubbed “couch guy,” was seen in a video she posted to the social media platform TikTok on Sept. 21.
With the song “Still Falling for You” playing in the background, the video portrays Zarras excitedly walking into her boyfriend’s college flat to surprise him with her presence.
It’s been speculated, however, that his quiet reaction to her arrival and the presence of another female on the couch indicate he wasn’t really missing his girlfriend and instead had been having an affair with his ladylove while away at college.
There’s a red flag! User +00kapack stated that “he didn’t get out of the couch and start jumping up and down in joy.”
According to one user’s quip, “If my girl walks in and I’m sitting on the couch with two other girls, I’ll leave in a body bag.”
“Nah, those boys certainly set him up,” said another. He really did steal his phone from the female sitting next to him in private.”
Although Zarras’ video has garnered over 58 million views, numerous well-known TikTok users have developed parodies of it.
In their own exaggerated reenactments of the original clip, TikTokers Gabrielle Kraus and Menecis & Brody surprised the male subject and definitely caught him cheating.
Several single TikTokers have parodied Zarras’ cheesy tone by filming themselves bringing their pets home to their pets, replete with the Goulding love ballad.
User Stanley the Stan Man posted a humorous video of himself returning to his residence and welcoming his fluffy kitten. I’m coming home early to surprise my kitty.
‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Vicki Gunvalson surprised her humiliated son at his college,’ a spoof created by Page Six spliced Goulding’s gushy song against old footage.
TikTokers have confirmed that the “couch guy’s” first name is Robbie, even though the rest of his name is a mystery.
For his part, Robbie has just taken to the microblogging app TikTok, using an assumed identity, to declare how much he loves his fiancée.
Zarras has also retaliated, claiming that despite being seen on the couch with another lady, she is confident that her partner is not cheating on her.
TikTok user “Breaks my heart that people can observe a great moment and spew so much hatred,” wrote about it. “Before making any assumptions about our connection, please think it through.”
#StopTheHate was the plain message in Zarras’ second video.
