Kanye West has responded to Kim Kardashian’s divorce filing in an official statement.
According to an April 9 court document, the rapper, 43, is requesting joint physical and legal custody of their four children—North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 23 months.
The SKIMS founder, 40, appears to be on the same page, as she has also requested joint custody, implying that the pair will likely work out a shared custody arrangement.
Kanye’s response is largely consistent with the contents of Kim’s court documents, which she filed on Feb. 19.
In his court filing, he argues that they should each pay their own legal fees and that neither party should pay spousal support.

Kanye, who cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, requested that their separate and joint property be determined “based on the evidence presented at the time of trial or settlement.”
Kim and Kanye have both maintained their adherence to their prenuptial agreement, a source close to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star told E! News in February. According to Kanye’s court documents, the divorce is indeed “amicable,” as the insider initially described it.
Earlier this year, it was believed that the couple had ceased communication, as Kanye spent the majority of his time in Wyoming.
And two months ago, after rumors of an impending split spread, Kim decided to file for divorce.
“Kim was simply fed up with waiting. She made an attempt to give it a chance. She desired to accomplish this last year. She gave it ample time, but the time has come to move on “At the time, the initial source told E! News. “There were no extramarital affairs. Nobody did anything wrong. They became estranged.”
According to the same insider, Kim has prioritized her children throughout the separation “She is primarily concerned with her privacy and children. She is a mother bear who is fiercely protective of her young.”
Kim, who was recently named a billionaire by Forbes, supported Kanye subtly over the Easter holiday by wearing his Yeezy footwear brand.
Along with welcoming four children, the estranged spouses have shared much since their $2.8 million wedding in Florence, Italy, in 2014. What is at stake in their divorce is as follows.
