Fans remember model Niece Waidhofer, who died by suicide at age 31.
After a “long battle with mental health issues,” an influential person with more than four million followers died in a tragic way, leaving fans and family in shock.
At the age of 31, a US influencer who was open about her struggles with mental health died by suicide.
Niece Waidhofer was a model with more than four million followers. She was found dead at her home in Houston, Texas, after a “concerned” family member asked police to check on her.
She may have been found on May 14.
Since then, the social media star’s family has confirmed their loss by saying that she “committed suicide after a long battle with mental health problems.”
A family member who didn’t want to be named told TMZ, “She was very open with her followers about her struggles. She even wanted to help followers who were also going through hard times.”
“Niece wasn’t just her problems. She was pretty and nice, sensitive and funny, creative and skilled, kind and generous, thoughtful and hard. Even though it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re glad she’s back with her father, her three grandparents, her Uncle Rusty, and her beloved Puff, and that she can finally be herself and be at peace.
A publication said that in her honor, a non-profit called “Peace From Niece” will be started. It will help raise awareness about mental health and pay for research into mental illness.
Fans of Niece were also worried when she deleted almost all of her photos from Instagram in the weeks before she died.
Her page only has three posts left, and the most recent one is a selfie she posted from her car on March 25.
The other posts were a short video of her dancing with her dog Puff, who has since died, and a photo from 2015 of her and a man she didn’t name announcing that they were getting married.
When she died, my niece was single and didn’t have any kids.
As fans try to deal with the shocking news, they have taken to social media to express their sorrow.
“She was one of my favorite Instagram users to follow. The state of your mind is very important. “More than you can even imagine,” one person wrote.
“I found out earlier that my niece Waidhofer has died, which is very sad. “Really hope it’s not true,” said someone else.
As one person said, “It’s a crying shame, because she could have had the whole world.”
