Kate Ritchie’s selfie has fans guessing about one particular aspect.
As Kate Ritchie prepared to return to radio this week, she uploaded a casual snapshot online, and her dedicated fanbase immediately went into overdrive over a single, small detail.
Some of Kate Ritchie’s fans have been left guessing when the actress and radio broadcaster shared a selfie from a significant location from her past.
The former soap star, now 43, posted a selfie of herself on the Barrenjoey Head footpath, overlooking Palm Beach, one of the most affluent coastal communities in New South Wales and the longstanding set of the soap opera Home and Away.
“On my way home to refill my mug…” A winking emoji was included in the caption, prompting many viewers to wonder if Ritchie might be returning to the popular Seven series.
Before leaving Home And Away in 2008 at the age of 28, Ritchie had portrayed the role of Sally Fletcher on the show since its first episode in 1988. Five years later, on the soap’s 25th anniversary, she returned for a few episodes in her Sally character.
And there was that one photo of Ritchie staring down on the Summer Bay location that had people all worked up.
One of Ritchie’s fans yelled, “Don’t tease me; it’s mean!”

Do I spy Palm Beach?” If Sally were to return, would you please tell me when? another questioned.
“I hope you’ll bring Sally back to Home and Away. another participant commented.
Ritchie’s essay was published the day before she made her radio and television debut this week as a co-host of Nova’s Kate, Tim, and Joel show. Even though she was on leave, she made a “bad judgment” and was arrested for drunk driving in August.
Following her arrest in Sydney’s eastern suburb of Maroubra, where she allegedly registered a blood alcohol level of 0.06, Ritchie was fined $600 and given a three-month driving restriction.
Recently, I submitted to a sham breathalyzer test. “The results were promising, though at a somewhat modest threshold,” she wrote.
I know full well the gravity of my conduct; I made a bad choice.

I sincerely apologize.
In a rare emotional interview with Anh Do’s ABC program Brush With Fame last year, Ritchie discussed how she felt “lost” after leaving Home And Away and how she was trying to find out how to establish a life without the full-time job she’d held since she was eight years old.
In her words, “I didn’t know where she ended and I began or vice versa, and I had to find out whether I was more than that” when playing Sally.
She provided me direction and a feeling of accomplishment. After many sessions of counseling, I feel better. When I was her, I felt like the only person I had ever been. Without her, I didn’t know where I was going or how I was going to get by. What kind of reception would I get if I didn’t pretend to be Sally? Sally was a wonderful human being, friend, and daughter… “Did they only care about me because they liked her?” she questioned.
