Who Else Has Been Said to Play Wolverine in the MCU Other Than Taron Egerton?
The mutants are finally ready to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means that Wolverine and his friends will finally be official characters. Hugh Jackman was told not to play Wolverine in the Fox movies, but he did a great job in the role. Now, a new actor will play the part. Who will it be? That’s the only question. Taron Egerton’s name keeps coming up, but he’s not the only one said to be in the running to play Wolverine.
There are rumors that Taron Egerton wants to play Wolverine in the MCU.
Fans want to know who will be the next James Bond and who will be the next Wolverine. The way Jackman played the mutant with the adamantium claws made him a fan favorite right away, and the move to the MCU means that mutant/X-Men movies won’t be far behind.
It won’t be easy to fill Jackman’s shoes, but Egerton has never denied that he wants to play Wolverine. The Welsh actor met with Marvel to talk about the idea, but he won’t say what they talked about because that’s against Marvel’s policy.
If Egerton grows out his sideburns to play Wolverine, only time will tell. If he doesn’t get the part, it might go to one of the other actors who are rumored to be in the running.
There have been rumors about other actors who could play Wolverine.
Wolverine is a sought-after role in Hollywood because he is part of the MCU and plays one of Marvel’s most popular characters. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Egerton isn’t the only famous actor who has been linked to the part.
- Daniel Radcliffe started his acting career with the Harry Potter movies, which were all big hits. Radcliffe’s work after Harry Potter has shown how versatile he is as an actor, but he has repeatedly shot down rumors that he will play Wolverine.
- Pablo Schreiber said he had talked to Marvel over the years about different roles. That led to rumors that he would be the next Wolverine, but the actor said that his comments at the time were exaggerated.
- Karl Urban from “The Boys” has been in the MCU (he played Skurge in “Thor: Ragnarok”), and he has said that he would be willing to take over for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
- A deepfake video of Scott Eastwood as Wolverine makes a strong case for the son of legendary actor Clint Eastwood to play the part.
Marvel has a lot of choices for who to cast in the role. If Egerton doesn’t get the part of Wolverine, maybe one of the other actors rumored to be in the running will instead join the MCU.
