‘Come at me,’ Bethenny Frankel defends ‘transphobic’ comments.
Bethenny Frankel is defending herself once more after being chastised for reportedly making transphobic statements on her podcast this week.
“Nominate me for cancellation,” the 50-year-old host of the podcast “Just B with Bethenny” tweeted on Monday, adding, “There are like five others before of you, so take a number.”
And when a critic tweeted at the former “Real Housewives of New York City” star, Frankel pleaded with the public to listen to her before canceling her.
“Be sure to listen to the podcast. Then make a remark. I was completely correct. And I’m going to talk it again this week,” she continued, adding, “Fortunately, I have a platform to correct what the media loves to distort.” @justbpodcast ps. I’m not frightened of cancellation, which means I’m not afraid of heated discussions.”
Frankel even challenged listeners, stating, “People have been reluctant to have genuine talks.” If you haven’t read your script before speaking, the audience becomes enthused. She continued, “Come at me.” “I’m here… and the @justbpodcast dialogue will continue.”
The CEO of Skinny Girl was chastised this week for describing how children are taught to use pronouns in school — notably, her 11-year-old daughter Bryn, whom she shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy.
Additionally, she described a camp incident she heard about in which a “person with a penis” who identified as a girl was placed in a cabin with other girls.
“The girls saw her — because it was her, because it was male anatomy identifying as female — and so saw a penis. They’re 9, 10 years old, so their parents were clearly not overjoyed,” she explained.
Frankel clarified that Byrn had a firm grasp on gender identity and the significance of using appropriate pronouns, stating, “It’s incredible,” but hinted that she might not allow her daughter to share a bunk with the transgender camper.
“She has also never seen a penis. As she would see girl parts at a camp, I believe these dialogues are similarly fluid,” she explained. “It’s a fascinating discussion regarding a female anatomy student bunking with a male anatomy student or vice versa. OK?”
