Anne Hathaway’s red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival is a stunner.
The Princess of Genovia deserves respect.
Thursday was the premiere of Anne Hathaway’s new movie “Armageddon Time” at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. It was her first time at the star-studded French event.
The 39-year-old “Princess Diaries” actress went all out for her Cannes debut. She wore a white strapless Armani Privé dress with sequins, a whisper-thin sheer panel, and an off-the-shoulder shawl that doubled as a long train.

Hathaway wore silver slingback heels by Santoni and a one-of-a-kind necklace by Bulgari called “Mediterranean Reverie” that had a huge cushion-cut sapphire weighing 107.15 carats.
The actress told People, “You hire [stylist] Erin Walsh because you trust her.” “You know, I’ve never been to Cannes, but I’ve been following the style of the film festival for the past 20 years. And I’ve noticed that there are some things that can never go wrong.”

Hathaway went on, “A little bit of sparkle never hurts. You can’t go wrong with something that looks chic and glamorous but feels very, very comfortable. And I noticed that many of my favorite actresses had actually worn all white before. So that’s what I did.”
Her husband Adam Shulman, who was also wearing Armani, and her “Armageddon Time” co-star Jeremy Strong, who looked great in a navy-and-black tux, joined her on the red carpet.
You’ll see a lot more of Hathaway as the festival goes on. On Friday, she went to a photocall for her latest movie wearing a blue minidress by Gucci that also turned heads.
