Alice Evans talks about the hurtful texts she says Ioan Gruffudd sent to her daughter.
Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd used to be a celebrity couple. After they broke up, screenshots of their private text messages were posted on Instagram, making the breakup even worse.
During their custody battle, Ioan Gruffudd’s ex-wife, Alice Evans, posted screenshots of text messages that the actor is said to have sent to their 12-year-old daughter.
In the first conversation, which was posted on Instagram, Gruffudd, 48, seemed to write that he couldn’t see Ella because his girlfriend, Bianca Wallace, had to be “extra safe” because she was taking medicine for her multiple sclerosis, according to the New York Post.
“Daddy I don’t want to meet Bianca. “I was just talking about going to Universal Studios with you and Elsie,” Ella is said to have said, referring to her sister who is eight years old.
The actor from “Titanic” is said to have said that he was “aware” but that he still needed to be “careful” for Wallace’s health.
He supposedly asked Ella, “What do you suggest we do outside and away from people?” She supposedly told him, “Forget about it then.”
Evans, who is 53 years old, said in the caption of her Instagram photo that this was not the first time Gruffudd had given her “some bulls**t reason” why he couldn’t see their children.
The former member of The Vampire Diaries posted another screenshot of a long text message Gruffudd is said to have sent Ella when he told her he couldn’t take her to a concert.
“This isn’t a kind and loving father-daughter relationship,” he seemed to write, saying that the last time they talked, the pre-teen “threatened” to call Child Protective Services and hacked his Instagram to post “disgusting” comments.
“A lot needs to happen before something like this is possible,” the message said. “I’m in therapy, and you’ll have to go back as well. Until then, we can’t go on as if nothing happened, because what you did was too bad.”
Evans posted the messages to Instagram to show her followers “the difference between how my husband talks about his relationships with his kids and how they really are,” she wrote.
The 102 Dalmatians star also posted a video of herself crying while reading court papers that her ex filed asking for joint custody of their two daughters.
In the documents, Gruffudd said that Evans verbally abused him during their 14-year marriage. He also said that she made fun of his hair loss and called his eyes “saggy-vagina eyes.”
“Alice told me often, in front of the kids, that she wanted a divorce, that I was stupid and a failure, and that she would call the police if I didn’t do what she wanted,” Gruffudd said. Evans has said that the claims are false.
Gruffudd filed for divorce in March 2021, two months after they moved out of their home.
When they broke up, Evans wrote on Twitter that Gruffudd was going to “leave his family.”
In February of the next year, the star of “Fantastic Four” got a restraining order against his ex-wife.
His petition said, “Alice threatened to tell people I had hurt her and our daughters.” “Threatened to call the police on me if I didn’t do what she wanted. Said she would tell people I was a drug addict and put me in jail if I didn’t do what she wanted.” “threatened to write a fake diary that looked like it was written by a victim of abuse and have it published. They also said they would kill my mother.”
The couple got married in 2007, but they are no longer together. They are going through a bitter divorce, and Evans often uses social media to criticize her ex. She has also accused him of having an affair with Wallace, 31, for two years.
The person who works for Gruffudd didn’t answer Page Six’s request for comment right away.
